The New York Jewish Agenda amplifies the voice of Jewish community leaders whose shared values motivate them to promote social justice, combat antisemitism, and support a democratic vision of Israel. We engage on critical issues across New York City and State through advocacy, education, and collaboration.
ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal
ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal envisions a contemporary Judaism that is joyous, creative, spiritually rich, socially progressive, and earth-aware. This vision arises out of our search for a renewed personal connection to the God of our ancestors and the legacy of our tradition, in service of our higher dreams for the future of our world.
Ameinu
Ameinu, Hebrew for “Our People,” is a national, multi-generational community of progressive Jews in North America. Recognizing the unbreakable bond between the Jewish people and Israel, as well as the commitment to make our own society better, we mobilize those Jews who seek opportunities to foster social and economic justice both in Israel and in North America. As Zionists, we understand that a secure peace between Israel and its neighbors is essential to the survival of a democratic Jewish state. With this in mind, we build support within the North American Jewish community for a negotiated two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Americans for Peace Now
APN is the sister organization of Shalom Achshav, Israel’s preeminent peace movement. APN’s mission is to educate and persuade the American public and its leadership to support and adopt policies that will lead to comprehensive, durable, Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Arab peace, based on a two-state solution, guaranteeing both peoples’ security, and consistent with U.S. national interests. We also work to ensure Israel’s future and the viability of Israel’s democracy and Jewish character through education, activism and advocacy in the United States, and by mobilizing American support for Shalom Achshav.
Habonim Dror North America
Founded in 1935, Habonim Dror (the Builders of Freedom) is a Progressive Labor Zionist Youth movement whose mission is:
• To build a personal bond and commitment between North American Jewish youth and the State of Israel.
• To create Jewish leaders who will actualize the principles of social justice, equality, peace and coexistence in Israel and North America.
Hashomer Hatzair
Hashomer Hatzair USA encourages youth to build progressive Jewish values, explore connections to Israel and the Jewish community, and develop a commitment to social, environmental and economic justice in a setting characterized by youth leadership and collective responsibility.
Since 1923, Hashomer Hatzair has been providing quality, youth-led alternative education, enabling its youth to take full responsibility over their education and culture while continuing to build life-long friendships.
J Street
J Street organizes and mobilizes pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the Jewish people.
Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we advocate for policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Jewish Labor Committee
The Jewish Labor Committee, an independent secular 501(c)3 organization, is the voice of the Jewish community in the labor movement and the voice of the labor movement in the Jewish community. Whether through its national office in New York or local offices and lay-led groups across the United States, the JLC enables the Jewish community and the trade union movement to work together on important issues of shared interest and concern, in pursuit of our shared commitment to economic and social justice.
New Israel Fund
The New Israel Fund (NIF) helps Israel live up to its founders’ vision of a society that ensures complete equality to all its inhabitants. Our aim is to advance liberal democracy, including freedom of speech and minority rights, and to fight the inequality, injustice and extremism that diminish Israel.
Partners for Progressive Israel
Partners for Progressive Israel is dedicated to the achievement of a durable, secure, and just peace between Israel and its neighbors, including an independent Palestinian state, as well as to building a more just society in Israel that ensures religious liberty, equality, and social justice for all its inhabitants. We also seek to deepen American Jews’ understanding of the complexities of Israeli society in order to enhance their advocacy for a progressive Israel.
Reconstructing Judaism
Reconstructing Judaism is the central organization of the Reconstructionist movement. We train the next generation of rabbis, support and uplift congregations and havurot, foster emerging expressions of Jewish life, and encourage people to be their best selves — always helping to shape what it means to be Jewish today and to imagine the Jewish future.
T’ruah
T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights brings together rabbis and cantors from all streams of Judaism, together with all members of the Jewish community, to act on the Jewish imperative to respect and advance the human rights of all people. Grounded in Torah and our Jewish historical experience and guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we call upon Jews to assert Jewish values by raising our voices and taking concrete steps to protect and expand human rights in North America, Israel, and the occupied Palestinian territories.
